The Incredible Iron Knight and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls

April 30, 2008 at 5:53 pm (Comics, Movies) (, , , )

Not only am I seeing Iron Man in 30 hours, but they are also supposed to show the new trailers for The Incredible Hulk, The Dark Knight, and Indiana Jones beforehand!!! I am freaking out!! I feel bad for my friends who have to experience my nerdiness, but who cares??? It’s going to be amazing! And since they’ve only put the new The Incredible Hulk trailer online, I’ll post it here for everyone’s enjoyment (including mine). I know I’ll be watching it a few more times tonight and squealing over the hotness of Edward Norton. This trailer looks even better than the teaser, and I am SO excited!

Burn Baby Burn

April 29, 2008 at 11:06 pm (Movies) (, , , , )

I’m about to head off to study for my Comparative Directors final, but I had to post this picture from Burn After Reading aka the next Coen Brothers movie aka the movie that reunites the Ocean’s 11 hotness and bromance of Brad and George. I am soooo excited to see this!

The rest of the new pics are here: http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/04/29/new-photos-coen-brothers-burn-after-reading/

And in honor of my final Comparative Directors lecture, here is an extremely hot picture of Edward Norton from 25th Hour which is the movie we watched tonight. It was a lot of fun learning about Scorsese, Allen, and Lee, and a perfect cinema studies class to end my college career with.

Distractions, distractions

April 28, 2008 at 11:26 pm (Celebrities) ()

Oh finals, I cannot wait to be done with you.  As I sit down on the 3rd floor in my dorm attempting to finish my seminar final paper, I figured I’d share what made me laugh aloud in the quiet room. That Russell Brand is one hilarious (and sexy) British man. Now back to that paper and giving mean looks to the person whose food is stinking up the room.

She’s Just Being Miley

April 27, 2008 at 8:16 pm (Celebrities) (, , )

http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b133259_Miley_quotEmbarrassedquot_Over_Vanity.html

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/28/business/media/28hannah.html?_r=1&ex=1367035200&en=976177d1530ae21c&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss&oref=slogin

Personally, I love Hannah Montana and am a fan of Miley Cyrus. But this may just damage her career with the young Disney fans and their parents. Combine this with the pics of her flashing her bra and with that guy, and you have to wonder who exactly is this girl trying to be? Is she trying to be a sexpot and appeal to the older crowd? Or does she want to maintain her Disney star status that has given her a lot of money and fame? Without the Disney Channel and Hannah Montana, people would not know who Miley Cyrus is. She should have known what she was getting into when she signed the contract. And if the Vanessa Hudgens’s nude photos have taught us anything, it’s that Disney Channel stands by their stars but doesn’t appreciate it when they do something that isn’t the Disney way.

I think the part from these articles that makes me go “what???” is the fact that she’s now saying that she doesn’t approve of the photos and it wasn’t what she wanted. She says that Disney and she approve because they’re artsy and tasteful (they are definitely more tasteful than other photoshoots). Yet she lets those other personal photos of her get released. And she was there at the photo shoot and knew what they were doing. Plus her parents and handlers where there. None of them thought “hmm maybe this isn’t appropriate for a 15 year old Disney star?” But like one of her songs says “Everybody makes mistakes”. Stay a kid for a little bit longer, Miley; if you want to have a Lindsay Lohan downward spiral, do it in a few years.

On another note, I am soooo excited for Prince Caspian (I just saw a commercial). Now back to writing my seminar final paper/watching The Simpsons/watching random Russell Brand videos.

In the context of the behind the scenes pics, it doesn’t look as bad. Plus she looks like she’s having fun (making her released statement kinda stupid). But that pic with Billy Ray Cyrus from the article? Yikes. Way too sexual for a father-daughter picture.

The nerds take over

April 26, 2008 at 11:37 pm (Celebrities)

http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/film/article3805205.ece

Whoa, whoa, whoa. This is not my Batman glass. Sorry, I mean, Emile Hirsch, Shia LaBeouf, and Michael Cera are HOT!!! Sure, we have moved away from the classic Hollywood leading actor look, but these guys are talented. And I love nerds. I still love the leading men though (don’t worry, George Clooney. The love is still there), and I like my movies to contain a mix of both. Although my wall of beautiful men, as my roommates have named it, may disagree. But Shia, Emile, and Michael are all up there (Emile multiple times) so I believe that I love them all equally.

P.S. To whomever wrote this article, where have all the real men gone? His name is Christian Bale; look him up and I’m sure that question will be answered.

Random Pictures

April 26, 2008 at 12:30 am (Celebrities, Comics) (, , , , )

I’m exhausted from working another premiere (Lake City) and from last night so I decided to just post a bunch of photos that have come out recently that entertain me. Plus I saw William Moseley today for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. =)

I just love it cause it looks like Robert Downey Jr is flashing Jeff Bridges (the Dude!). Plus I am super excited for the midnight screening of Iron Man in less than a week!

This Disney ad is gorgeous, and it’s a lot better than the recent ones they’ve released (the Pocahontas/Jessica Biel and JLo-Mark Anthony/Jasmine and Aladdin were HORRIBLE!). That’s Julianne Moore looking beautiful as Ariel, and Michael Phelps is being sexy and swimming in front of her. Awesome.

The male cast members of Gossip Girl are so hot! There should be a law against having that many hot people in one show. I can’t wait to watch the new ones when I get home in a few weeks (why the heck did the CW move it to Mondays during Greek???) And personally I think Ed and Penn are way hotter than Chase which may have something to do with the fact that Dan (Penn’s character) is so sweet, Chuck (Ed’s character) is so deliciously evil (and I really want him back with Blair), and Nate (Chase’s character) is so whiny and boring.

And since I mentioned William Moseley earlier, I have to mention his gorgeous Prince Caspian co-star, Ben Barnes. His British accent is also to die for.

This post has been approved by the always sexy Emile Hirsch. Fly, Emile, Fly!

Top 15 Most Anticipated Summer Movies

April 23, 2008 at 7:00 pm (Celebrities, Comics, Movies) ()

With summer just around the corner, the usually spectacular summer movie season will be starting soon.  Last summer was pretty great: Ocean’s 13, Ratatouille, Hairspray, Transformers, The Bourne Ultimatum, Superbad, The Simpsons Movie, Stardust, Harry Potter 5. No wonder my hard earned cash disappeared so quickly.  Well this summer looks like it’s going to take an even bigger toll on my wallet.  Here are my 15 Most Anticipated Summer Movies of 2008 (because 10 just isn’t enough):

1. The Dark Knight: Christian Bale IS Batman.  He’s able to play both Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight, something no other Batman actor has been able to do effectively.  Batman is my favorite superhero (as you can tell by the title of my blog), and I loved Batman Begins (it’s in the Top 3 of best superhero movies ever).  Plus Heath Ledger looks amazing as the Joker; he seems to have really delved into the role and is perfect. I can’t wait. (July 18th)

2. Iron Man: I hate to repeat myself, but Robert Downey Jr IS Tony Stark/Iron Man. This movie looks like a lot of fun but actually has a plot and a competent director under Jon Favreau (aka Foggy Nelson!). Due to his past drug problems, RDJ can effectively play Tony, and based on the previews, he seems to have accomplished that. Bring on Drunk Iron Man!!! (May 2)

3. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: Although there’s no Sean Connery in this one (if only, if only), there is the new addition of Shia LaBeouf (SHIA!). And I missed my favorite archaeologist. Harrison looks like he’s still got it after almost 20 years. I hum the theme song every time the commercial comes on. I might even skip my older brother’s birthday for this. Just kidding Chris…or am I? (May 22)

4. The Incredible Hulk: After the 2003 version, I didn’t have much faith in another Hulk movie. But once they announced the casting of Edward Norton and William Hurt, I was in (battle of the sexy voices!). Hopefully the negative press the movie is currently getting won’t damage it. Have a little faith in the Hulk, people! Or, you know, Hulk smash! (June 13)

5. Mamma Mia: Why, why, did I ever let you go? I LOVE musicals, and this one looks like it will be as much fun as Hairspray. Plus I can bring my parents to it. And who doesn’t want to hear how Pierce Brosnan sounds like when he sings? (July 18th)

6. The Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian: My younger brother (a Narnia geek) and I enjoyed the first film.  And the previews for the 2nd one look to promise more action and fun. Plus Peter and Caspian are hot! (May 16)

7. Pineapple Express: Apatow’s movies have been hit and miss lately (I’m talking about you, Walk Hard), but I laughed a lot during the red band trailer for this movie. What’s not to love about potheads on the run from killers? Plus it has a comedic James Franco. Awesome dude. (August 8th)

8. Hellboy 2: I went into the first one without knowing a lot about the Hellboy mythology and exited as a new fan. This one seems to have even more wisecracking jokes and action mixed in with Del Toro’s strange creature creations. (July 11)

9. Speed Racer: EMILE!!! And the possibility of seeing Matthew Fox cry on screen which I enjoy immensely. Even though it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting (oo shiny colors), it does look cool and like a fun popcorn flick. (May 9)

10. The Happening: I didn’t see Lady in the Water (the only one of M’s movies that I haven’t seen). Even though I love Paul Giamatti, I skipped after the bad reviews (plus I’ve seen Giamatti on the street 2 times this year so I’m set). But The Happening may place Night back in everyone’s good graces. The people falling off the roof in the trailers is creepy, and even though not much is known about it, there has to be a big twist at the end. So I will hopefully be entertained. Plus it has Marky Mark and he might dish out some good vibrations. (June 13)

11. Wall-E: Pixar can do no wrong. That is all. (June 27)

12. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2: I loved the books and the first movie was so adorable (and made my sophomore year suitemate cry after she borrowed the DVD). Even though I’m not a big fan of America Ferrera anymore (so stuck up; don’t bite the hand that first fed you), I do enjoy the other girls. The Pants have returned! (August 8th)

13. Tropic Thunder: It’s directed by Ben Stiller so I’m a little hesitant. But the trailer is amusing, and it has Robert Downey Jr who made me laugh the most during the trailer. Sure it’s got some controversy due to the fact that RDJ is in blackface for some parts of the film, but I’m going to take his word for it and trust that it will be funny but not insulting. Plus it’s RDJ! (August 15)

14. Sex and the City: I’ve seen almost all of the episodes, and my cousins and roommate are obsessed with the show. So I’ll be there. Plus I feel like I don’t get to heckle Chris Noth enough around campus so this will give me a better opportunity. (May 30)

15. Step Brothers: It brings back the dream team of Talladega Nights (Ferrell, Reilly, and McKay). So shake and bake baby! (July 25)

P.S. I am way too entertained by the fact that Nick Fury slept with a skrull in Mighty Avengers 12. Fury, you manwhore, you.

As of June 13th, I have seen 6 out of 15 (Iron Man, Narnia, Indiana Jones, Speed Racer, Sex and the City, The Incredible Hulk).

In honor of…

April 22, 2008 at 11:16 pm (Uncategorized)

In honor of the roomie’s birthday tomorrow (the 23rd), I have to post a video from the first Japanese drama that she made me watch.  Who knew that I would get hooked on this show?  Things like this made me realize how fun it can be to have a roommate.  After two years of having my own room at college, it’s nice having someone around to vent to and listen to me sing (which she has been forced to do many times).  So Happy 21st Birthday Steph!!!

April 21, 2008 at 12:13 am (Movies)

With finals (papers, projects, and exams) coming up, this post will be short and sweet. I needed something to entertain me, and this does it (although looking at my Comic Con pictures from this weekend makes me very happy). So enjoy!
